
Some flash drives have to be formatted first before you can store files on them. Not every flash drive out there can be used with a Mac computer right out of the box. If the size of the clusters is small, the speed with which the hard drive performs becomes slower. When a file or a portion of the file is written on any cluster, it is marked as or considered to be occupied.
